Updates to Fancourt Golf Courses:
Montagu Golf Course Closure
The Montagu course will be undergoing resurfacing which entails removal of the greens surface, replacing of sand, fumigating and seeding of greens, stripping and removing kikuyu grass from the perimeter of greens, sodding around greens with new kikuyu and finally checking, cleaning and mapping of the Montagu greens. In order to implement the above the Montagu course will be closed from the 16th of April 2018 till the 22 September 2018.
The Outeniqua and The Links courses will continue to operate as normal over this period to ensure that all golfers still have a memorable golfing experience on the estate.
Updates to Golf Bookings, Fees and Availablity of Golf Courses:
Splitting the usage of the Montagu and Outeniqua courses
From 1 March 2018 the Montagu and Outeniqua courses will be “split” in usage and alternated between the Fancourt Country Club members and hotel guests. On a particular day one course will be allocated exclusively to hotel guests and the other for members use. The courses will then be alternated the following day for members and hotel guests alike.
During the period of the Montagu course closure the Outeniqua course will be “alternated” on a morning and afternoon basis respectively between members and hotel guests.
Fancourt are confident that this move will allow members and hotel guests more efficient access and usage to the courses and allow them to better manage the golf experience.
Increase in caddy fees
In maintaining the level and sustainability of the caddy service and the guest experience, as of 01 June 2017, caddy fees increase from R210 to R250 per caddy per round. This will apply to all new bookings – all confirmed bookings in the system will be honoured at the current rate.
Fancourt Country Club Day Visitors
In the interests of ensuring that hotel guests have priority access to the golf courses during high season and to make more tee times available to them, there will be a limit to day visitor tee time slots of 1 x 4 ball per day. All other times will be allocated to hotel guests only. Should certain events and availability dictate, from time to time these slots may be increased. The continuing drought in the Western Cape has required the local government to impose water restrictions, that include the banning of filling swimming pools with municipal water. As a result, many hotels have elected to close their swimming pools until such time as water restrictions are eased.
