Important Update on Skukuza Airport
Runway and Terminal
Following successful rehabilitation of the Skukuza runway which re-opened to charter flights on 18 February 2014, work on the airport terminal refurbishment is progressing well and The Skukuza Airport Management Company looks forward to welcoming its international visitors to what is set to become a key iconic entry point to the Kruger National Park and the adjoining Sabi Sand reserve.
Benefits to travellers as a result of this initiative will include:

- Time efficiency & passenger convenience
- Ease of flight itinerary planning with all scheduled flights being availble via one central point – the GDS.
Schedule Changes
Airlink has moved it’s Skukuza – Cape Town departure time to 11:20 (SA 8862), and its first Skukuza – Johannesburg flight to 13:30 (SA 8862) in order to accommodate guests and agents/ operators by:
- Providing guests with more time to enjoy their game drive followed by breakfast and a more leisurely check-out and transfer to Skukuza airport.
- Enabling guests connecting on early evening intercontinental long haul departures more time in the bush and less time in-transit in airport departure lounges.
- Providing additional time for those transferring by road from lodges located at some distance from Skukuza airport.
Launch & Schedule
Airlink will commence operating flights between Johannesburg and Skukuza as well as Cape Town and Skukuza from Monday 2 June 2014.
