Skukuza Airport Flight Information from More

AIRLINK WILL LAUNCH DIRECT FLIGHTS TO SKUKUZA AIRPORT IN THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK.
After extensive renovations to runway and terminal buildings, Skukuza Airport is set to open to traffic in June 2014. This will see the welcome re-establishment of scheduled air services to one of the country’s most visited tourist attractions, linking to other regional hubs (and the rest of the world), coveted African safari destinations and Mozambique. This promises a much more cost effective, convenient and time efficient travel solution – and happier passengers.
ROUTES AND CONNECTIONS
Airlink will initially offer daily flights from Cape Town and Johannesburg, while flights from Durban will follow.
Federal Air will supply feeder and charter services carrying passengers between Skukuza and the game lodges in the region, as well as from Skukuza to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport to feed onward scheduled flights to Livingstone in Zambia and Vilanculos in Mozambique.

AN UPDATE ON SKUKUZA AIRPORT
- Work on the Skukuza Airport runway is progressing well. After being closed on 04 November 2013 for repairs and resurfacing, the runway is on track to re-open again on 14 December 2013.
- The Skukuza Management Company (comprising Airlink, Federal Air and Lion Sands Game Reserve) is in the process of revamping the airport terminal building to bring it to international standards. Building contractors and specialists are currently on site. Once the facility is complete, the airport will be able to process a total of 400 passengers and 20 aircraft movements per day (a combination of 10 arrivals and 10 departures per day, including lodge hopper/ shuttle flights and charter flights).
