Sun City Entertainment Centre Upgrade

Sun International’s legendary Sun City Resort is undergoing an R800-million refurbishment. The 2016 phase of the upgrades to Sun City will see the ambitious reinvention of the Entertainment Centre, which aims to create a more exciting and modern experience for guests to Sun City.

In a bid to bring you more thrilling entertainment in a more upbeat, modern and comfortable space, the iconic Entertainment Centre will be closed from 11 January 2016. We anticipate that the new Entertainment Centre will be open towards the end of the year, just in time for the holidays.

During the refurbishment, there are a number of alternative activities and restaurants still available across the resort.

Looking to host a conference in 2016? While the upgrades to the Entertainment Centre take place, conferences will be accommodated at the SunSky Village, a temporary but fully-equipped facility located near the Sun City main gate/entrance.

If you’re looking for conferencing with a difference, take a look at Sun City’s SunPark – a multifunctional and multipurpose facility for hosting lifestyle events, music festivals, product launches and other experiential events. The SunPark is extremely versatile and offers ample space – the possibilities are endless!

Entrance to the Valley of Waves and The Maze of the Lost City will be located next to the Bridge of Time. There is a temporary bus stop near the new temporary entrance to the Valley of Waves where guests will be dropped off.

The Sky Train will run on select days during peak periods and will drop guests off, as usual, near the Cascades hotel. Guests will have to follow the signs down the escalator from the Skytrain, around the bend and up the path towards the Welcome Centre and through the Welcome Centre up towards the Valley of Waves.

Please note that the Magic Company will be relocating next to the Food Factory at the Valley of the Waves.
